Poor security at work is something that is often overlooked by companies, but is essential for a happy and safe working environment. Whether you’re a large or small business, here are some tips you might find useful.

  1. Invest in some CCTV cameras, this immediately deters potential criminals. This equipment ought to be accompanied by a ‘CCTV in operation’ sign.
  2. To prevent break-ins and theft, you should either designate a trusted employee to hold the keys, opening up and closing every day. An easier alternative is to purchase a digital door lock, telling all the relevant staff the passcode, and changing it at regular intervals and when an employee leaves the company.
  3. If there are any gates on your premises or other ways of breaking into your property, a good idea would be to invest in a padlock, giving the key to a trusted employee or keeping them in a safe inside the building.
  4. Convex mirrors are also a good way of preventing people from vandalising or trying to break in. Along with the CCTV signs, they give the impression that they’re being watched. Therefore any potential criminals will avoid doing any damage and chose a premises without any security precautions!
